Nintendo Micro Direct

So Nintendo did a thing today where they released a "micro direct", whatever that means. Well, we know what that means, it's just silly not to call it a "Nintendo Direct". Anyways, they announced some non-surprising stuff, but they did announce one or two titles you may not have been expecting.

Chibi-Robo!: Zip Lash for the 3DS was announced, complete with a new Chibi-Robo Amiibo (those words sound good together, right?). Chibi-Robo first debuted on the GameCube, following up with a sequel on the DS called Chibi-Robo!: Park Patrol. A third game that I was unaware of, Chibi-Robo!: Photo Finder, was released two years ago for the 3DS, but to judge at title, I am not sure if that was a full on game or not.

Dr. Mario: Miracle Cure is being released next Thursday, so if you've been craving some more puzzle games now that you are probably 20+ hours into Puzzle & Dragons Z, you can get something fresh to quench your thirst!

Puzzle & Dragons Z + Puzzle & Dragons Super Mario Bros. Edition are getting new free content, so if you aren't going to be buying Dr. Mario next week, you can get new content sometime in the near future?

Splatoon gets a free downloadable weapon and free map download, which is pretty cool! I still need to pick this game up because I hear it has people dusting off their Wii U's and enjoying the online features while it's hot! !!!

Bravely Second End Layer was a surprise to me today. This will be launching sometime in 2016, which should give me enough time to play/finish Bravely Default. I hear it's amazing.

Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games was announced...and I may or may not pick this up when it's $15/20 bucks. Who buys these? They seem like Wii fitness games with Mario characters, not really bringing anything new or exciting to the table. Who knows, I could be wrong for this version, so I won't judge until I play it.

Those are the notable announcements! Did any of these surprise you? So many people have announced last year that the Wii U was dead...and it did seem that way, even though it is still early in this console's lifespan. Not a lot of fresh n' hot titles, so it is very refreshing to see Splatoon be so well received AND different. It could have been Mario Sunshine: Paintball Edition! :P

You can check out the full micro direct here.
